An illusion is a distortion of the senses, a deceptive appearance, which can reveal how the human brain normally organizes and understands sensory stimulation. You think you see something but it is not really what is happening. Although illusions distort our perception of reality, they are generally shared by most people.
When applied to literature, an illusion can be a narrative technique, such as a dream, vision, or other device that misleads, confuses, or tricks a character.
Enter our writing contest by creating a COMIC/GRAPHIC NOVEL about illusion. The winner will receive a copy of CITY OF ILLUSION by author/illustrator, Victoria Ying.
Entries due Aug. 31, 2021.
